Sodium lignosulfonate as a water reducing agent for concrete
Sodium lignosulfonate can be used as the admixture of polymer and concrete, which has the advantages of low cost, high efficiency, strong market competitiveness and environmental protection. At present, the construction industry is the largest demand for sodium lignosulfonate industry. This is because it has excellent properties such as high water reduction, low slump loss, high strength and slow setting. It can adsorb dispersed cement and improve various physical properties of concrete. In addition, lentisulfonate powder can also be prepared into early strength agent, retarder, antifreeze, pumping agent and so on.

Most of the water reducing agents of concrete are surfactants. Therefore, the mechanism of action of sodium lignosulfonate is surface activity.

After adding sodium lignosulfonate to the concrete, the hydrophobic group of the superplasticizer is directively adsorbed on the surface of the cement particles, and the hydrophilic group points to the aqueous solution to form a single or multi-molecular adsorption film, so that the cement particles have the same surface. The charge is repelled and dispersed, and excess water is released from between the particles, achieving the purpose of water reduction. At the same time, due to the reduction of the surface tension of water and the interfacial tension between the cement particles, the water consumption is correspondingly reduced under the condition of maintaining the same fluidity, which also plays a role in water reduction. (6) Could be used for the production of plasterboard to reduce the amount of water required to make the stucco flow and form the layer between two sheets of paper. The reduction in water content allows lower kiln temperatures to dry the plasterboard, saving energy.
